Parental Support

Are you a parent looking for support?

Family life can be hectic and sometimes the practical and emotional stuff gets lost. Vegetables, homework, bedtime and even tooth brushing can leave us feeling slightly out of control, especially during the early years and throughout adolescence.

I realised early in my “parenting career” that despite working with families for many years, my best efforts as a parent didn’t always align with my kid’s world view, and unlike robots they too had an agenda and perspective that was usually different to mine.

Through altering perspective and our approach to things we are struggling with, positive change can occur. This however is not always easy, especially when we are in the thick of it.

I work with parents to navigate the many challenges being a parent brings, looking at what feels difficult and offering down to earth, non-judgemental coping strategies.

Using a combination of therapeutic skills, gained through counselling and working with school-age children and their families within the NHS, Voluntary Sector, and Private Practice, I provide support to you as parents in coping with your children’s physical and emotional issues.
